Hi! Thank you for reading my blog. Here is where I am as of May25, 2010.
Feeling good about I.M.
I had the bright idea to learn Internet marketing in December of 2008. After 30 years as a carpenter/building contractor, the lifestyle of a carefree Internet Marketer looked like just the ticket. I was all starry eyed and naive at first and I fell for several scams designed for the uninitiated. I wasted about five months barking up the wrong trees. In retrospect, it was not a total waste of time because I was learning how to navigate the web. I remember how difficult it all seemed at first. With each failed fiasco my eyes were opening wider. I began to dig deeper and I came to the realization that internet marketing takes study, trial and error, and perseverance. There is no magic little program that is going to flood your bank account, though it is an attractive possibility.
I made my first sale in April 2009. I was thrilled! You see I was starting to think it wasn’t possible, that it was all some giant scheme to fleece the newbies. More sales followed and instead of sticking to what was working for me (Squidoo and Clickbank), I fell prey to the “shiny things syndrome.” I started trying to do everything at once, I had so many tabs and windows open, I actually crashed my O.S. The sales were slow during this period of frenzied learning. I was making videos and learning wordpress, studying social bookmarking and RSS. I would drop everything to learn the next method I felt was essential to succeed. I bought the best software on the market, hung out in forums, downloaded many gigabytes worth of free reports. Burnt a lot of midnight oil and drank a ton of coffee. Did I ever feel like quitting? No way.
Now, I make enough bank to pay the bills, but there is no Ferrari parked in my garage. I feel that it is only now that I am ready to combine what I have learned with my killer software and my bag of assorted tricks and truly achieve the dream.
I am going to tell anyone who wants to know how I am doing it right here on this blog. Stay tuned.
